Tips for Looking Good and Feeling Great - For You and Your Wardrobe

Here is a small selection of the top tips and useful ideas that I cover with my clients during their wardrobe consultations. If you would like to learn more or invest in a consultation, please contact me.

Underwear (one for for the ladies)
“Without foundation, there can be no fashion”. The words of Christian Dior still ring true today and highlight the fundamental importance of underwear. To help you out, here are some tips: 1)The most important colours to own are nude and black. Forget about white bras being invisible under white garments – they’re not! 2) Most women are wearing a band size that is a size too big and a cup size that is a size too small.

The Importance of Alterations
It might come as a surprise that rather than throwing away a beautiful garment because it does not fit or flatter, you can have it altered to give it a new lease of life. Clothes are designed to be altered, as we are all different shapes and sizes.

Wardrobe Maintenance
There is no point in owning beautiful clothes if you do not know how to care for them properly. Here are some tips on how to care for your clothes and ensure that they last for years to come: 1) A fabric shaver is great for revitalising tired knitwear. 2) A lint roller is a handy way of removing dust, fluff and pet hairs. 3) Find a good quality dry cleaner as cleaning fluid that is too strong can cause damage.

Grooming (one for the men)

Now we've got the clothes sorted, don't be let down by poor personal grooming. Here are some tips to make sure you make the right first impression: 1) Ensure all your clothing is crease free. 2) Ensure facial hair reflects the image that you want to portray. A wet shave gives a closer shave than that achieved by an electric razor. 3) Hands and nails should be clean. Manicures are becoming more popular so don't be ashamed to book in for one.

I hope these tips will give you an insight into what you can gain from a consultation and I look forward to meeting you.

Best wishes, Shirley
